Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to participate in the “Startup Mahakumbh” at Bharat Mandap in New Delhi on Wednesday, which is a three-day event organized by the government to strengthen the startup ecosystem and attract investment in the sector.
The event commenced on March 18 and will conclude on Wednesday. The Startup Mahakumbh, jointly organized by industry bodies such as Bootstraps Incubation and Advisory Foundation and Indian Venture and Alternative Capital Association (IVCA), has received support from the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).
All about ‘Startup Mahakumbh’
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the “Startup Mahakumbh” is India’s largest startup event and has witnessed “unprecedented participation,” serving as a dynamic platform for all stakeholders in the country’s startup ecosystem. The ministry highlighted its significance in fostering development in emerging sectors such as deep tech, agritech, biotech, medtech, AI, and gaming.
The event, organized with the aim of promoting innovation and entrepreneurship nationwide, attracted significant interest from leading investors, innovators, and ambitious entrepreneurs.
The event witnessed participation from over 2000 startups, more than 1000 investors, over 100 unicorns, 300+ incubators and accelerators, representatives from over 3000 conferences, delegations from over 10 countries, over 3000 future entrepreneurs, and over 50,000 professional attendees, providing a vibrant environment for collaboration and networking. This statement was added by the ministry.
Prominent industry leaders and policymakers addressed the attendees during the three-day event, emphasizing the crucial role of startups in advancing India’s economic progress and development.
