Kejriwal announced that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is set to independently contest every assembly seat in Haryana.
AAP’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal declared on Sunday that the party is determined to independently vie for all 90 assembly seats in Haryana. Despite this solo endeavor in the state elections, Kejriwal emphasized that AAP will join the I.N.D.I.A bloc for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. The announcement unfolded during AAP’s ‘Badlaav Jansabha’ in Jind, Haryana, with the notable presence of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann at the rally.
The assembly elections in Haryana are scheduled for October, following a few months after the Lok Sabha elections.
“Presently, the Aam Aadmi Party stands as the only party that enjoys the trust of the people. With the success stories of our governance in Punjab and Delhi on display, Haryana is yearning for a significant transformation. The positive changes witnessed in Delhi and Punjab have resonated with the people, bringing about satisfaction and contentment,” he stated during the party rally.
Kejriwal emphasized that while the AAP will independently contest all 90 assembly seats in Haryana, the party envisions participating in the Lok Sabha polls as an integral part of the I.N.D.I.A bloc.
Expressing confidence in the party’s prospects, he stated, “AAP will compete on all 90 seats, and we are poised to establish the next government in Haryana, aiming to elevate it to the status of the number one state in the country.”
Highlighting the prevailing sentiments in Haryana, Kejriwal asserted, “The state is yearning for a substantial transformation, as its residents are disillusioned with the performance of the incumbent parties.”

Accusing other political entities of self-serving agendas, the AAP national convener alleged, “The people of Haryana have tested various parties, and these entities have primarily focused on enriching their own coffers.”
Furthermore, Kejriwal contended that only the AAP has the capability to provide uninterrupted power supply and essential facilities, drawing parallels with its successful track record in Delhi and Punjab.
Kejriwal confidently asserted, “The Congress, the BJP, and the JJP lack the capability to achieve this; only the AAP possesses the competence to fulfill such commitments.”
In his address, Kejriwal highlighted that rival parties once claimed if citizens received zero bills, they would face power shortages, but he assured that the AAP has successfully transformed the scenario with Delhi and Punjab now enjoying uninterrupted power supply. Despite the BJP-JJP coalition holding power in Haryana under Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, Kejriwal pledged to eradicate power cuts in the state as well.
In a direct accusation against the BJP-led Centre, Kejriwal maintained that the government had mobilized all its resources to apprehend him, expressing his fearlessness about facing imprisonment. He alleged, “They have deployed the Income Tax Department, the CBI, the ED, and the Delhi Police in pursuit of my arrest.”
“I harbor no fear of incarceration. Originating from Haryana, I want to convey that attempting to intimidate a ‘Haryanawala’ is futile. I am the true son of Haryana, with its blood running through my veins, unafraid of imprisonment,” he affirmed.
Countering accusations likening him to the country’s biggest terrorist, Kejriwal refuted, stating, “I am not a terrorist; the real perpetrators of terror are those who have allowed inflation to soar. Today, inflation is the paramount terror affecting every household, hindering them from meeting their basic expenses.”
Kejriwal underlined his unwavering commitment, declaring himself a “kattar imaandaar” and a staunch patriot, stating, “I am devoted to Lord Ram and Lord Hanuman. Drawing inspiration from ‘Ram Rajya,’ we administer Delhi and Punjab. Our purpose is not to seek power but to serve.”
Challenging the BJP-led Centre, Kejriwal asserted, “I want to make it clear to them that their objective is to eliminate Kejriwal. They are singling me out… I present five demands that resonate with the 140 crore citizens of this nation. If you meet my five demands, I am ready to step away from politics.” (With PTI inputs)
