India has announced the team for the final three Test matches against England; Virat Kohli is notably absent, and Shreyas Iyer missed out.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the Indian team for the remaining three Test matches against England on Saturday, February 10. Star wicketkeeper-batsman KL Rahul has returned to the team after missing the Vizag Test due to injury. Ravindra Jadeja is included, but players like Virat Kohli and Mohammed Shami are out for different reasons.

While Virat Kohli is unavailable for personal reasons, Shami is likely dealing with an injury.

Batsman Shreyas Iyer will be absent for the next three matches due to ongoing struggles. After a series of poor performances in the South Africa tour, Iyer managed only 104 runs in four innings of this series. Rajat Patidar and Sarfaraz Khan have been retained in the team, and it is believed that Sarfaraz Khan will make his much-anticipated debut in the Rajkot Test starting from February 15th.

After the heroic efforts of Jasprit Bumrah and Yashasvi Jaiswal, India secured a 106-run victory in the Visakhapatnam Test, leveling the series at five matches each. Bumrah, with 15 wickets, dominates the leaderboard and has surpassed Ravichandran Ashwin to become the ICC’s number 1 Test bowler.

Specifically, Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja’s participation is subject to medical clearance in the third test.”

“On the other hand, left-arm orthodox spinner Saurabh Kumar has been released from the team, paving the way for Bengal’s right-arm medium-fast bowler Akash Deep to join. The 27-year-old all-rounder has taken 103 wickets in 29 first-class matches with an impressive average of 23.18, earning recognition for his hard work in domestic cricket.”

“For the final three Test matches against England, India’s team includes:”

“Rohit Sharma (C), Jasprit Bumrah (VC), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, KL Rahul*, Rajat Patidar, Sarfaraz Khan, Dhruv Jurel (WK), KS Bharat (WK), R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja*, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Siraj, Mukesh Kumar, Akash Deep.”
