Farmers are hopeful for positive news from the fourth round of talks with their leaders on Sunday.
On the fifth day of farmers’ protest, with entry into Delhi, Sarwan Singh Pandher, leader of the Punjab Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee, said on Saturday that everyone is now looking towards Sunday’s meeting, hoping for some positive news, and the ball is in the government’s court.

On Saturday, addressing the press, he stated that the government should make decisions on demands, including MSP and farmers’ loan waivers.
If the government accepts our demands, the matter will be resolved. Farmer leaders will attend the Sunday meeting with a positive mindset, hoping that decisions will be made for the benefit of farmers and agriculture laborers.
They also said that they have not deviated from their program to go to Delhi yet, and going to Delhi was only to present their demands in front of the central government.
Meanwhile, the Indian Farmers Union (Charuni) staged protests in solidarity with the farmers demonstrating on the Shambhu and Khanauri borders of Punjab-Haryana, organizing tractor marches in Kurukshetra and some other locations in Haryana on Saturday.
The protest entered its fifth day on Saturday as supporters of the United Farmers Front (non-political) gathered at the Shambhu border in Ambala in support of the farmers and farm laborers.
Allegedly, more supporters of the farmers and their families in Shambhu joined them in solidarity near the Shambhu border.
The fourth round of talks between the central government and farmer unions is scheduled for Sunday evening.
On Sunday, BKU (Charuni) also called for a meeting at the Brahma Sarovar Park in Kurukshetra, with representatives from Khap Panchayats, farmers, and labor unions.
On Tuesday, farmers supporting the above-mentioned unions from Punjab began a march towards Delhi. However, security personnel at the Shambhu and Khanauri points on the Haryana-Punjab border stopped them, and they have been halted there since then.
Meanwhile, on Friday, Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Anurag Thakur, stated that the talks between farmer unions and the central government in the third round were meaningful, and both parties have scheduled the next round of discussions for Sunday.
