Aprilia resumes manufacturing of RS457, will be available in India by March
Aprilia expected the Aprilia RS457 to become one of the best-selling superbikes when it was introduced by the Italian manufacturer at the Indian MotoGP round last year.
The latter was officially launched in Maharashtra and was priced at around Rs 4 lakh (ex-showroom).
The first bike manufactured by India, Aprilia, was introduced. Although the motorcycle has been designed in Italy, for India, the units are being manufactured at Piaggio’s Baramati plant.They plan to export some of those units to other countries as well.
At the time of its launch, Aprilia announced that deliveries of the RS457 would begin by March this year. Pre-booking for the bike has started on December 15, 2023 itself. Customers will have to pay a token amount of up to Rs 10,000 for each reservation. They can also enjoy test rides at Aprilia’s Motoplex dealerships from this month. With the ever-increasing hype for the superbike According to a report by HT Auto, production of the Aprilia RS457 has already started at its Baramati facility.
The RS457 looks good and its design is very similar to the previously launched Aprilia RS660. The entire pairing makes the front end look a bit heavy. But the sleek headlamps and daytime running lamps give it a much classier look. Like any other premium sports bike, the RS457 comes equipped with a set of clip-ons and rare footpegs that Thereby enabling a professional riding experience.
To power this superbike, there is a liquid-cooled, 457cc engine. Unlike other motorcycles with parallel-twin engines, the Aprilia RS457 is designed to follow a 270-degree firing order. This will not only provide a smooth exhaust note but will also help maintain high refinement levels. The motorcycle offers three different riding modes with on-the-fly adjustable traction control- Ecology, Rainfall and Sports
The powertrain of the RS457 is provided with a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch. There is also an option to install quick-shifter in it. It is also the first bike to get TVS Eurogrip ProTorq Xtri which is sized at 110/70-R17 at the front and 150/60-R17 at the rear. Which does the braking work of a 320mm front disc and a 220mm rear disc.
Once it arrives in India, the Aprilia RS457 is expected to compete with the Kawasaki Ninja 400, KTM RC 390 and the Yamaha R3. But it seems that it will be priced slightly more than the KTM RC 390 and much more than the Ninja 400.
