Former Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Manohar Joshi, has passed away. He was admitted to the hospital after a cardiac arrest.
Before this, on Thursday, the hospital had stated in a statement that Joshi (86) was critically ill. The veteran leader of Shiv Sena was admitted to the same hospital last May after a brain hemorrhage.
Former Chief Minister of Maharashtra and former Lok Sabha Speaker Manohar Joshi passed away on Friday. He took his last breath around 3 am on Friday at a hospital in Mumbai. He was 86 years old. After suffering a cardiac arrest, he was admitted here. According to sources, the former Chief Minister of Maharashtra was admitted to the ICU of PD Hinduja Hospital on Wednesday. He took his last breath in private medical care.

Manohar Joshi had a notable political journey. He served as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra from 1995 to 1999, being the first leader from the undivided Shiv Sena to hold the top position in the state. He was also elected as a Member of Parliament and served as the Lok Sabha Speaker from 2002 to 2004 during Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s government.
