Minutes after Atishi’s post, Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj also posted on Twitter, quoting speculations about Kejriwal’s arrest by the ED.
Bhardwaj said in his post that it has been heard that ED can reach Chief Minister Kejriwal’s house tomorrow morning and arrest him.
These claims come as the Delhi Chief Minister did not attend the third summons issued by the ED on Wednesday. ED had issued the third summons to CM Kejriwal on December 22 last year. He was asked to appear before the agency on January 3 in the alleged Delhi liquor scam case.
According to party sources, Kejriwal expressed his willingness to cooperate in the ED investigation in his reply but refused to appear on the scheduled date, terming the notice as “illegal”. According to party sources, Kejriwal had also questioned the timing of the notice as a move to bar him from campaigning ahead of the upcoming parliamentary elections in 2024.
The Delhi CM was first asked by the central agency to appear before him on November 2, but he refused, alleging that the notice was “vague, motivated and unsustainable in law.He further alleged that the said summons appears to be politically motivated and has been issued for gratuitous reasons.Meanwhile, AAP also questioned the timing of the notice just ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
